Islamic University – Babylon Branch Council Holds Its Eighth Session to Advance Academic Performance and Institutional Development

The Council of the Islamic University – Babylon Branch held its eighth session for the 2025–2026 academic year, chaired by the University President and attended by the Council members, to discuss a number of academic and administrative issues that constitute key pillars in advancing institutional development and enhancing the quality of academic performance.

During the session, the Council reviewed the University’s research plan and a summary of its scientific performance for the 2025–2026 academic year. It also discussed proposals for the upcoming academic year’s activities, evaluated completed and proposed scientific activities, followed up on the research output of faculty members, and reviewed training programs aimed at enhancing academic and professional competencies.
The Council also addressed several student affairs issues, including mechanisms for handling critical student cases and the requirements of the summer training program in line with educational objectives and labor market needs. In addition, it discussed the proposal to establish an Industrial Advisory Council, in accordance with the directives of the University Presidency and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the aim of strengthening partnerships between the University and the productive and service sectors.
Furthermore, the session reviewed updates to academic curricula to ensure alignment with recent scientific developments and modern academic standards. The Council also considered applications for academic promotions in accordance with the applicable regulations and approved guidelines.
At the conclusion of the session, the Council reaffirmed the University’s commitment to fostering a culture of strategic planning and sustainable development, enhancing the quality of education and scientific research, and providing an integrated academic environment capable of preparing qualified graduates who can contribute effectively to community service and sustainable development.
