The Islamic University Holds a Solemn Memorial Ceremony Commemorating Arbaeen of Sayyid Ali Khamenei

In an atmosphere marked by solemnity, reverence, and deep reflection, the Islamic University – Babylon Branch held a memorial ceremony commemorating the fortieth day (Arbaeen) of His Eminence, the Martyred Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (may his soul be sanctified). The event took place in the University’s Grand Hall on Saturday morning and was attended by a distinguished gathering of faculty members, students, and academic and religious figures.
The ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Mustafa Al-Kim Al-Tamimi, whose heartfelt recitation created a serene and spiritually uplifting atmosphere. The program was hosted by Ali Al-Taie, who guided the event with a style that reflected the significance and profound meaning of the occasion.
In his address, the President of the Islamic University – Babylon Branch, Prof. Dr. Haider Kadhim Abdul Ali Al-Quraishi, stated that the late Sayyid Ali Khamenei embodied the principle of “Victory or Martyrdom,” emphasizing his enduring presence in the hearts of Muslims. He also expressed pride in the spirit of courage and chivalry that extends from the religious authorities to the younger generation, stressing the importance of Muslim unity, particularly in light of contemporary intellectual challenges. He concluded by thanking the attendees and describing participation in the memorial gathering as a great honor and blessing.
For his part, Sheikh Ali Al-Shukraji reflected on significant milestones in the life of the deceased, highlighting his intellectual and struggle-oriented legacy, as well as his steadfast commitment to defending principles and values. He noted that commemorating such distinguished figures is, in essence, a reaffirmation of a comprehensive path of sacrifice and reform.
Poetry also formed an integral part of the ceremony, as poet Abdul Hussein Al-Hatami recited verses expressing grief and loss while celebrating the noble values embodied by the late figure. His poetry deeply resonated with the audience, vividly portraying the meanings of patience, perseverance, and steadfastness.
