In line with the importance of consolidating the principles of the rule of law and promoting a culture of rights and freedoms, and within the scientific role played by academic institutions in addressing contemporary constitutional issues, the Department of Law held a scientific seminar entitled: <\/strong>\n <\/div>\n
\n (Constitutional Guarantees of Rights and Freedoms in the Contemporary Constitutional System)<\/strong>\n <\/div>\n
\n The seminar aimed to highlight the constitutional foundations that ensure the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, and to examine the effectiveness of these guarantees in light of the political and legal transformations taking place in the contemporary world. It also addressed the concept of public rights and freedoms as one of the core pillars upon which any modern democratic system is built. <\/strong>\n <\/div>\n
\n The seminar discussed the most prominent constitutional guarantees, foremost among them the principle of the rule of law, the separation of powers, and judicial independence, as essential mechanisms for protecting rights and preventing the abuse of power. It also examined the role of judicial and constitutional oversight in safeguarding these rights and ensuring they are not violated by public authorities. <\/strong>\n <\/div>\n
\n In the same context, the seminar reviewed the challenges facing the implementation of these guarantees in practice, particularly in light of political crises and exceptional circumstances. It emphasized the need to enhance legal awareness and activate oversight mechanisms to ensure respect for constitutional provisions and their effective implementation. <\/strong>\n <\/div>\n
\n The seminar concluded by stressing the importance of developing the legal system in line with international human rights standards, and working to entrench a conscious constitutional culture that contributes to protecting rights and freedoms and strengthening the building of a society based on justice and equality. <\/strong>\n <\/div>\n
